Dreams and Utopias
Night of the Arts at Annantalo
Night of the Arts at Annantalo takes visitors to the future through dance and art. On this special night, youth take centre stage when Annantalo fills to the brim with talented young musicians and artists. Come along and join in the feeling, delight in the delicacies of the food court and to relish the atmosphere created in part by the Milo & Moses jazz trio – or why not step into the spotlight yourself on the Open Stage!
As the evening dims, young DJs will begin to spin their favourite tunes to spur the dancing feet of passers-by in the night. Amidst it all, the mystical and unique animal creatures of Fauna Humana will be circulating through the crowds. The family’s youngest members will also enjoy spending time at the Baby Kino and Quiet Dances.
At the Dreams and Utopias event, children and youth step onto the stage to demonstrate their hidden talents. The Open Stage is the ideal backdrop for dance groups, poets, rappers, mimes or even circus artists. Registration for children and youth on the Open Stage will begin in August.
In your opinion, what special properties will plants and animals need to have in the future? And what message would you send back from the future, if a time machine transported you 100 years ahead? Come to the Night of the Arts workshops to build and draw the unique super-plants of your dreams, or try your hand at the Senegalese collage technique and create your own unique story chain that extends through the ages.
We welcome you to join us at the pre-event workshops taking place on 20–21 August for the purpose of planning what the surroundings of Annantalo will look like on the Night of the Arts.
The programme and timetable for the event and the pre-event workshops will be published in August. The event is free and suitable for the whole family!
Dreams and Utopias is a wild, surprising and joyful event!
